Peninsula Tour

Day Tour
Tour highlights:
  • Camps Bay
  • Chapman’s Peak
  • Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve
  • Boulders beach penguin colony

This is the most ‘classic’ of our tours – if you only have one day in Cape Town, this is definitely how you should spend it. This tour takes you on a circular trip right around the beautiful Cape Peninsula.

Starting from the Camps Bay side, we travel along the coastal road with the Twelve Apostles mountain range towering on our left, then down into picturesque Hout Bay with its fishing harbour. We then wind our way further south via the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive cut from the steep mountainside, taking us down into Noordhoek with miles of white beaches, and then all the way along the coast, to the very tip of the Peninsula, where you will visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.

This celebrated wilderness area offers pristine natural beauty, with unique and rare fynbos. A few large mammals such as antelope, zebra and baboons can be spotted, and you might even sometimes see ostriches foraging on the beaches. Lunch at the Two Oceans Restaurant in the reserve is always a big hit with our clients for its excellent seafood and views overlooking False Bay, where sightings of whales is a possibility in the right season. An optional gentle walk after lunch rewards you with spectacular ‘secret’ views not visible from the road.

The return trip takes in the other side of the peninsula along False Bay, with a stop to see the famous African penguin colony at Boulders beach and passes through the charming and historic naval village of Simon’s Town.

TIP: Have a look at the ‘other things’ link to see what other places or activities can be included in your peninsula tour, depending on the season and time permitting.
